I used to hike in college. The most spectacular hike was to the top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. I’ll never forget the view from the top and how achy I felt after coming down. It was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that I swore I wouldn’t repeat. I was beaten for days.
Are you a hiker? How about a 22-mile hike of absolute beauty according to Ashley Harrell of SF Gate?
Hiking Hawaii's Kalalau Trail is 22 miles of deadly beauty
After hiking about 2 miles on Kauai’s famous Kalalau Trail, a strenuous and stunning path over the dramatic Napali Coast, I started to feel like it was all becoming too much. This was a problem, I knew, because my plan had been to hike 22 miles over the next 48 hours. Had I been wrong to think this was even remotely possible?
Or better yet, maybe a retreat at a famous film location for the likes of Magnum, PI, and other movies is the place to hang out before or after your hike.
The Hawaii resort that's become a favorite Hollywood film location
by Christine Hitt, SF Gate
For more than a century, Hawaii has been the chosen location for countless Hollywood movies and TV shows. It’s where dinosaurs roamed in “Jurassic Park,” wealthy guests checked in to “The White Lotus,” and Indiana Jones ran through the jungle in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
While filming takes place across the Islands, there’s one resort that’s racking up a considerable number of productions on IMDb.
