Hi Friends!
I want to apologize for the lateness of this newsletter as well as the very short content. I have had a rough two weeks to say the least. Within that time I have gone through two TIA’s (transient ischemic attack). After two different hospitals who had different opinions with the last one being the more reliable they have come to the conclusion that the blockage is inoperable.
This isn’t totally a bad thing, but it isn’t what I expected. Even after forwarding my information and CT Scan and MRI readings to the Stanford Stroke Center it was determined nothing can be done.
So I am still moving forward with this newsletter, but sometimes it may be late or have a little less than normal like today. It’s all going to depend on my mood, and I apologize for that.
I know some of you have been following us for a while and some of you have even donated to our cause and we greatly appreciate that. I promise to make this newsletter worthwhile so that you get your money’s worth.
Just hang in there with us, well me and I’m sure things will get better.
Thanks for everything!
Mark & Patti

27 Dog-Friendly Sonoma Wineries
It’s hard to keep track of all the rules at the more than 400 wineries that call Sonoma County home in Northern California, but fortunately, finding dog-friendly wineries in these parts isn't all that ruff. A slew of Sonoma wineries not only welcome, but look forward to meeting the pampered pooches of their guests.
The Rainbow Room
A PART OF LOS ANGELES history since 1972, the Rainbow Bar & Grill, featured in many songs and music videos, has been a home away from home of many rock legends.
The music venue Whisky a Go Go was the sounding ground for musicians with dreams of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Whisky a Go Go was the place rock stars came to see other rock stars perform, and the Rainbow was where they “networked.” A place that the Prince of Darkness—Ozzy Osbourne—remembered walking in but never remembered leaving, the Rainbow became a known hangout spot for rockstars and their groupies through the ’70s and ’80s.
Ratio’s Market & Deli-Oakland, CA
BORN IN THE ITALIAN PROVINCE of Alessandria in 1868, Giovanni Battista Ratto sailed as a cabin boy on a schooner to Buenos Aires when he was just 13 years old. After some time, the Bay area appealed to Ratto and he moved once again. There, he met a prominent produce farmer who took him under his wing and gave him a job. Eventually, he married and had four daughters and a son.
A Short Note
We’re back to normal or semi-normal publishing for now. As I stated in the first issue I turned on the paywall for the newsletter which will be the same as Revue. It’s set up for everyone to receive a newsletter whether you donate or not. The monthly fee is $3.00, and yearly for $30.00. That includes a 40% discount off the minimum $5.00 fee Substack has set.
Again this isn’t mandatory and I hope no one leaves because of this. The plan for the New Year is to add a podcast on this page and that might be the VIP treatment for people who donate. We’ll see.
